Scribble Jump DS – demo 1 released!

Hi @ all readers of my blog and all, who found this on the main page of drunkencoders.com.

Today I released the first demo of Scribble Jump DS.

I wanted to make a DoodleJump (the game for IPodTouch) for DS, but LimaSky forbid that.

So I decided to make my own graphics and sounds.

And here’s the first demo of the game…

Can you constantly make more levels that we can put in the scribblejump folder? We love it so more levels would be great!

I’m about to make a section in the website, where users can upload their levels and share them with others.
So if some people (including me) constantly upload their levels, you’ll get more :)

So it seems to be no general problem of your card.

Eventually got a “not enough DRAM to load sprites” exception after a few retries (I was playing in No$gba).

You may want to check you’re deleting everything you create

Yes, I’m deleting everything. The problem only appears very rarely.
It’s because I was to lazy to also make the monsters and the items using PA_CreateSpriteFromGFX, so that it stopps, when in a level are to many items/monsters visible :(

Will fix that in demo 2 (which will need some time)

no, because the acekard has Auto-DLDI-Patch

try the following things:

1. try to put the game in a subfolder
2. Download the latest version of the akaio OS.
3. if that not work, try to use HBMenu (http://wiki.devkitpro.org/index.php/Homebrew_Menu)

if none of this things work, I’ve no idea

If i want to load the game my screens become black and nothing happens. I have a R4 card with WoodR4 1.10. A DLDI patch didn’t work either.

Seems to be the same error as with Feuri.
I’m upgrading PAlib and devkitPro now and will recompile it.

@all, who have not been able to play it yet:
Please try it again with the lastest version.
I upgraded devkitPro, so may it runs now …

Edit: seems to work now :)

now I´ve testetd it a bit but I found some issues:
1)after playing for a while I get an error, that there is not enough VRAM
2)some levels seem to be the same
3) after falling down in a level and clicking on replay it always looks like it loads level 1.1
4)all highscores are at 343347xx

1) know bug, but it seems like this bug appears more often after the upgrade to devkitPro r31 :( [will fix it]
2) hmm… may it seems to be so, because they’re randomly repeatet?
3) that could also be random, but doesn’t happen with me.
4) that error I got only once. Then I reformated my card (some files were brocken) and after that this error never again appeared. (have to inform me about that)
